Supervisory Course In KL Malaysia


In every organisation, essential supervision can lead to purposeful, co-ordinated and goal directed activity.  Ineffective supervision could lead to high turnover and absenteeism, employee conflicts and disciplinary problems.  Ultimately, the organisation will suffer from lower productivity and poor employees’ morale. Case Study 1: Improper Supervision Lead To Loss Of Job


Lim is a supervisor for local car manufacturer. He just receive a new worker named Ahmad today. Ahmad is a fresh grad and were keen and eager to learn, especially in handling heavy machinery. This is because Ahmad had learn to operate these machinery at university, however it is not enough for him as the time allocated for practical use of these machinery is very limited.

One day, a senior machine operator got sick.Thus, there is no one to operate the machine. Lim sees this problem and gave Ahmad to operate it. Lim thought it will be a good experience for Ahmad. Thus, Ahmad has learn to operate this kind of machine at university, thus this should be no problem even without Lim giving instruction and supervision.

Weill, it's just a disaster waiting to happen. Ahmad dropped few of cars body frame which cost thousand each as he could not use the machine properly. Lim got very mad and fired him immediately. Ahmad, shocked and embarrassed left the factory without a word. Lim thought by doing this, the management will be at ease because he had eliminate bad seed.

When the incident reach to the management, it was Lim who are in trouble. This is because not only he allow a fresh rookie to handle heavy machinery, which can lead to damage, but also injury, Lim also did not give proper instruction and supervision while Ahmad was handling the machine. On top of that, he fired Ahmad in which he acted outside of his powers.

After few month, Lim got fired due to improper judgement by letting fresh rookie handle heavy machinery all by himself, incapacity to done his job properly by not giving instruction and supervision to Ahmad while he is required to do so, and acted out of his job scope by firing Ahmad without proper procedure and power vested in him to do so.

Case Study 2: Give Credit Where Credit Is Due


Lee is a project coordinator for an e-sport event. He is tasked to host an event for MP in Muar who loved to participate in e-sports. As usual. he assembled his A team, a team that can walk the talk, a team that can deliver promise. After persuasion and negotiation, Lee finally got the team he need. The team began to draw a budget, make a plan and so on.

On the day on the event. It went so well. Lee, together with his team managed to control the flow of event smoothly and are according to plan. They also managed to let the MP of Muar to try out some of the latest game on console and on personal computer. The MP of Muar was so impressed, he asked a question that will changed Lee's relationship with his team forever.

MP said "Wow, Lee, thank you for such a nice event. I enjoyed the game that you have suggested. Do you managed it yourself?" Lee, proudly says "Yeah, amazing right YB?" When the team heard it, they confronted Lee when Lee said this magical word "I am the one who recruited all of you. I deserve all the credit"

After the event, all Lee's team member ignored Lee. Some quit the job because they felt betrayed by Lee. As a project coordinator, Lee tried to make up to the rest of the team, but it did not work. Lee do have several projects after that, but the results were not the same with his former A team. Lee regretted his action and swore to give credit where it is due.

Case Study 3: Benefit Of Good Supervision


Jef was an accountant clerk at local accounting firm. One day, the management decided to put Linda an intern student, in Jef supervision. Linda was student undertaking an ACCA certification, thus compared to Jef, it was like heaven and earth. Jef thought he will not have to teach anything to Linda considering this fact.

However, he was wrong. When preparing for an accounting report, most of Linda's format are wrong, her report is hard to digest and she break down easily when the task is piling up, which is normal in the accounting firm. Jef then step up, teaching Linda essentials and giving her emotional support when she needs.

Jef had not heard from Linda after she completed her intern. Out of blue, after 3 years since Linda's intern, Jef suddenly got promoted to account executive, Jef was shocked. Considering his qualification, he did not deserve such position. Jef later learn that it was Linda, who is now an ACCA qualified, wrote a recommendation letter to the management that got him promoted. Jef thanked Linda and learn that good supervision will surely benefit sooner or later.
